Food Photography
To be able to transpose you in a way that just by looking at an image your senses are highlighted – that is my focus when I shoot food.Like looking at the image of a croissant reminds you of the aroma of freshly baked bread or the crunch that accompanies the first bite. It is imperative to have an understanding of the menu and what needs emphasis but in the end, it translates to how appetising the food looks in an image. I have always loved food and now to be able to capture it in photographs and make it look as beautiful as it tastes is something I enjoy a lot.

Clinical and technical product shoots may sound quite laborious and unappealable but, they are quite interesting to work on. Working with different surfaces like glass, wood, acetate and metal provides unique challenges and shooting the product in a way that triggers sales is gratifying.

Lifestyle photography is a category of photography devoted to portraying clothing and other fashion paraphernalia. The use of images holds more importance than written content when it comes to fashion photography as the concept and idea behind a design is established better in pictorial form. Though the task looks quite simple it involves a plethora of technical and directional guidance. Mastering the art of fashion photography comes with its own set of challenges.

The process of shooting Books is much longer and detailed with a fair amount of referencing and storyboards before the actual shoot. Choosing surfaces, backdrops, props and other minutiae allow me to weave a story from start to finish and I find it immensely satisfying.
About
Exploring food, fashion, products and books, I have spent the last decade peeling back the many facets of photography and delving deep into presenting the subjects in an aesthetic manner. Working through different challenges that come with every shoot, I have enjoyed and appreciated every step of the process and it is difficult to pick a favourite bracket. From technical product shoots that require everyday objects to come to life, to food photography where the image needs to transcend senses, I approach every project with a measured cadence that allows me to unsheathe the very essence of what i am shooting. Back in India, it wasn’t a difficult choice to leave my job and spend a couple of years engaging myself in the craft of photography, absorbing, training and learning every step of the way to better my skills.
